As the nights draw in, the days become cooler, the forest comes alive with rich vibrant reds, oranges and browns. My favourite time of the year. The forest makes a stunning backdrop for walks and of course family portraits.

Spring is finally here. The sun is starting to shine a little longer each day and the forest is carpeted with bluebells, enticing us all outside for some well-earned family time.
Based in the Forest of Dean, Capture this Moment Photography offers both studio and on location family photography sessions.
Family photography in the Studio
2016 has certainly been an eventful year. I have captured so many memories for clients both old and new, young and old, in the studio, on locations. Captured the details, the emotions, family interactions as they celebrated many different occasions.
Some ideas for you to try on your next session with your family photographer or whilst out and about as a family.
Ongoing development and training is something I truly believe in. I invested both time and money to ensure I stay up to date, further my skills to bring you beautiful images that you will treasure. This summer I decided to further my skills in newborn photography and travelled to Poole to train with one of the best newborn photographers in the UK - Karen Wiltshire. The day allowed me to observe Karen at work, learn how to pose babies safely and confidently to create amazing photographs that parents treasure.
I am super excited to start offering parties, in the past I have offered photo shoot parties in fact I still do, however working alongside Rachel from Rachel Shilston - Inspiring Creativity, has allowed us both to add an new dimension to the parties we already offer. The first part of the party our guests are inspired to create, we have recently inspired a group of girls to create their own hippy chick festival flower crowns, these flower crowns are then modelled in a photoshoot both in the studio and then outside on the farm.
World book day, a celebration of books, reading and the joy that they bring. My daughter, like me loves to read. She enjoys many authors, rereads her favourites and enjoys visits to the book shop. One of her all time favourite books is Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren, a wonderful story of a girl, her monkey and horse and their many adventures. We have various copies of this book in the house but our favourite copy is a first edition illustrated by Lauren Child (we are big fans of Lauren's work!). Her illustrations really bring to life the wonderful adventures of Pippi and inspired a very special photo shoot a few years ago. It seems approriate to share these with you today on World Book Day.
I love children, I love their personalities, their smiles, their wonderful view of life. I enjoy photographing older children bringing out their personalities. I recently attended a wonderful training day with Kate Hopewell Smith. Kate has a wealth of knowledge and a passion to share this with other photographers. The knowledge gained during the day has certainly helped me when photographing older children and I thought I would share with you a selection of images from the day.
2015 was an amazing year. I was blessed with so many lovely clients, returning and new. I have worked with amazing small local businesses. Captured so many memories to create treasures to keep and share. Here is just a small selection from some of the sessions completed, we had lots of fun with bubbles, visited parks, celebrated engagements, recorded moments, grabbed props, captured the details, the emotion of some many amazing occasions. I would like to thank you you all, it has been a pleasure and a privilege to be involved.
The simple things really are the best. Days out with family, picnics in the woods, BBQs on the beach. This week I enjoyed as great day out with my two and of course the dog at a beach not too far from home. We chucked in a disposal BBQ, a packet of sausages, some bread rolls, bats and balls, bubbles and headed to the coast for a day of relaxing and enjoying each others company. Of course it is also a great chance to capture some memories ;)
A family day out in Morris Minor Traveller, a little damp at times but a huge amount of fun. Here are some of the images captured during the day.
A glorious day early in May was the perfect opportunity for a family picnic. We visited Mayhill, a local beauty spot but despite having lived in the area for nearly 5 years we had yet to visit. The brisk walk up hill was certainly worth it, the views were stunning and also perfect for a spot of kite flying :)
Last week I have the pleasure once again to photograph the prom for The Forest High School. The prom was held at Bells Hotel and Golf Club in Coleford. With a colour scheme featuring tiffany blue, the venue was decorated with fairy lights and accents of blue were used throughout.
